Ivan Ives is an American hip hop artist born in Leningrad (USSR) - living in Los Angeles, California. Although from Russia, all of his work has been composed while growing up and living in the United States. He has worked with the likes of The Cool Kids, Black Milk, Percee P (Stones Throw Records), Oh No (Stones Throw Records), Tre Hardson (The Pharcyde), Cappadonna (Wu-Tang Clan), O.C. (D.I.T.C.), Vast Aire (Cannibal Ox), 2Mex (The Visionaries), Insight, and more.[1] Ivan Ives' music has been primarily released through his own label, No Threshold Records.

According to interviews, Ivan Ives spent his early childhood playing piano and learning the works of Shakespeare. He took an interest to poetry and hip hop at a young age and started developing his craft in his teenage years. Practicing his MC craft while finishing Film School led him to release his first album upon graduating college. He reconciled with his old high school friend Fresh The Hitman and they began making music together.
Ivan was named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the next 40 artists to watch. His single "Victory" from the album Iconoclast,[2] was put up for free download on iTunes as part Rolling Stone's promotional campaign.
Ivan was a featured artist on MySpace and other sites with over 1 million streams on his songs.[3] He has acquired over half a million views on YouTube.
Fresh The Hitman is Ivan's main producer, responsible for such tracks as 'Victory', 'Villain' and 'Got It' - which has been featured in numerous skate videos, including the new film [Shot From Dark].[4] 'Villain' is now airing on MTV [5] as well as VH1.[6]
Ivan's European fan base has been growing, especially in Poland.[7]
Ivan completed a dozen tours [8] in North America from July 2007 - November 2010; And with more mixtape releases and albums put out on his No Threshold imprint, Ivan has released over a dozen albums[9] since 2007. His album Newspeak charted on iTunes in the top 500 hip hop albums upon its release.
